Inside each and everyone of us is a beautiful soundless sound.
To my soul, it sounds like freedom. Free of suffering. Play the song, play the song.
Clear and resonant.
Play the song.

There is unlimited potential for solidarity, connection, and compassion inside of each and every one of us. The loneliness you feel, the sorrow of disconnection, is the inner voice telling you to plug in and wake up. Might I recommend Ashtanga yoga? It's very simple and incredibly effective. DCASHTANGA.COM

February 2017
Such a beautiful day for primary outside.
Combining the forces of prana and apana in a dynamic way that brings a sense of grounding and stability in the moments of expansive heights. Playing with capacity, letting the buddy hum to the tune of "I am" and "I can".

Jason and I have known each other since we were 18/19.
We closed down bars together, and eventually he opened one.
We are the people of DC. We ain't got no box to be put in.
We watched Annie Hall together on the national mall. We've had conversations about the literal sound of farting in yoga versus the not-flatulance-fart noise. I didn't know he was here... But I was not dead shocked to cross paths.
You can't make old friends.

I'd love to tell you how often I've been told I'm too fat. The number has a Wilde impossibility to it, so much so that you will know it is true.
When I weighed 100 lbs more, it was less shocking than it is now. And yet: less surprising. Maybe it's age.
I get a thrill of subversive go-fuck-yourself now. I see it more starkly, as I get my intellect-genetic-earth based rhythms.
Madonna, Lady Gaga and Britney Spears stay with me in my heart because of the lashes and the backlashes they create through the medium of Pop. Especially Madonna. Gaga's conversationally specific now, though.
I just want it to stop, and know it won't. We have to find our own rhythms, our own balances. That's each and everyone of our own work... But in the interim:
Im gonna hope that you wear colors if you like them and short-shorts if you want them. And, maybe suggest you get rollerskates, too. But that last one is just me.

On my last full day, I finally did it.
Do you have something that scares you? 4 years ago, my teacher started me on this sequence.
I've resisted. I was scared... it was too hard by myself. I had other things to work on.
When I confessed I hadn't been working on them so much, my teacher just laughed... And helped me get back to work. The same little program as before, fleshed out again.
Sometimes we need someone to hold our hand; sometimes, our feet to the fire. Often: both.
I'm really tickled.
