Friends: An old friend in VA is locked up and being denied cancer treatment. Can anyone recommend a prison advocacy group or offer support?
I love the days when the age range in the Shala is from 5-60. I love it when there are not enough fingers on one hand for the different races/ethnicities. I love it when there is a smattering of witches, Christians, Muslims, Jews, Athiests, and dudes who pray to Elephants.
Today was one of those days.
DC ASHTANGA, you're what's up.

Yoga, my friends, dogs, and this city. <3
DC Ashtanga-- must love kids & dogs. Really, only two very small rules.
Think yoga is too girly? Don't let gender disparity become a barrier to entry! Come learn & muck about with a bunch of dudes.
Today, they all came dressed as pirates. They let me talk about dharma, the love I have for my gurus, and the great hunt for the greatest treasure of all. I am so happy and feel so much love that it is hard to type, but worthy of sharing.
How I feel about independent yoga and fitness facilities.
Charlie's ready for Pride!
Supporting my local queer community !!
I love: family, friends, DC, and my queer brothers & sisters.
From Pride.

I think this is just the absolute best. I love "Nerd Fitness" ... And I'm a fit nerd.

Considering expanding hours to 9:30 or 10am at DC Ashtanga. Do we know any service industry or yoga folks who have wanted to practice but couldn't?
This is the Hour
We have been telling the people that this is the Eleventh Hour.
Now you must go back and tell the people
this is the Hour.
And there are things to be considered:
Where are you living?
What are you doing?
What are your relationships?
Are you in right relation?
Where is your water?
Where is your garden?
It is time to speak your Truth.
Create your community.
Be good to each other.
And do not look outside yourself for the leader.
This could be the time!
There is a river flowing now very fast.
It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid.
They will try to hold on to the shore.
They will feel they are being torn apart and they will suffer greatly.
Know the river has its destination.
The elders say we must let go of the shore,
And push off and jump into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above water.
See who is there with you and celebrate.
At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally.
Least of all, ourselves.
For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.
The time for the lone wolf is over.
Gather yourselves.
Banish the word "struggle" from your attitude and your vocabulary.
All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.
"We are the ones we've been waiting for..."

Headed to bed thinking about my students across the globe studying with my teachers. Thinking thoughts of thanks to all of my teachers who encouraged me to study with their's. This yogi's heart seams tug.
Quiet morning at the shala-- led primary with a single row. Same faces as as when one full row was a busy day. I love these folks.
Had a corporate class... Only one student. So, we practiced silently together. Then one more turned up. We carried on at our own pace. They gave me such a gift.
My heart is with the DC Theater and Yoga community today.
