is beginning to see a theme in his studies from the week: center of mass.
I've been doing a lot of educational reading.
Yoga, yoga, yoga.
The topic of Batman managed to leach a few hours from me. Here is a round up/summary of whats been happening in the bat books over the past year.
I'm hoping Dick Grayson ends up as Bats, but thats just me.

I realized I hadn't shared this until I went to re-read it via Vanessa King's profile. I've dedicated the next year to exploring the Ashtanga traditions-- and am so far in looooove with it.
For those that are curious, Peg does a killer job of talkin' bout it. Give it a look (if only to read a little about what I dedicate my mornings to, and why I don't get to go out on weeknights anymore).

is escaping the surly bonds of earth and taking flight. AntiGravity Yoga Training: Day One.
"'Practicing alll aspects of yoga destroys the impurities so that the light of knowledge and discrimination shines .' It is unfortunate that students who have not yet matured in their own practice have changed the method and have cut out the essence of an ancient lineage to accommodate their own limitations." --Mr. Jois
My morning practice has been stalled by evening practice. A bad habit, but more time for yoga reading. Anusara Exodus (not surprised), Yogasam (its real! ish), and 48 Questions with 3 Gurus... good reading!
Dude. Richard Freeman (and this is yooooung Richard Freeman) = f'ing awesome.

In my quest to stream Richard Freeman lectures and videos, I discovered that the DC Public Library streams books and videos. How glad am I to be a member of the Library?!

My first conference was fascinating. I got to view Sharath, the (these are my terms) titleholder of the Ashtanga lineage, through the lens of a man who deals with keeping the purity of a practice in the real world-- the world of parties, internet gossip, and multiculturalism. A fascinating, non-textbook experience. A highlight, paraphrased: "A man with two gurus (gu ru: dispel dark) is like a man with two doctors-- take both pieces of advice/take both pills, and you surely are worse for it."
I am super intimidated by my Sanskrit class. Holy. Cow.
Led Primary, chanting, Sanskrit, philosophy, and two trips to the Ramakrishna ashram. Today was busy, but had a keen reminder to count my blessings: I saw a funeral procession today. It consisted of a flower adorned handmade chair, the deceased strapped in, carried and paraded to the crematorium. Tambourines and gongs, laughter and tears.
A ton of fantastic assists in practice, a wonderful birthday party, and a thoroughly exhausting sanskirt . I'd call that a full day. #mysore
Sanskirt then dinner. I should not have made that banana smoothie-- I'm full-- hopefully that changes in 3 hours 😉
Fascinating reading 'round the blogosphere about krounchasana.

Lakshmish, doing the #ashtanga invocation! Mysore swoon!

For me, chanting is harder and scarier than asana. Went to Dr. Jayashree's for chanting and philosophy, hoping to make Karuna proud.
