In this lesson, we introduce fundamental core anatomy.

Gain an understanding of the foundational anatomy of the core, including the function of the individual muscles and the core as a whole.

Define the anatomy of the core. Provide an example of an asana that works each of the following: the rectus abdominis, the obliques and the TA. Explain the function of the erector spinae and the multifidus muscles. Explain the functions of the core as a whole. Describe a way for students to experience the feeling of the abdominal muscles as stabilizers.
