Working with the shoulders for supta kurmasana:⁣

Since putting on lean mass for the summer (lifters gonna lift), i have had to improve my active range of motion in all of my major joints. Bigger arms and legs means more space requirements, safely. ⁣

Here’s what’s happening:⁣
🧸start in bear sit, strongly pressing down through the legs, maintaining strong external rotation⁣
1️⃣ retract, externally roatate, and flex the shoulders. ⁣
2️⃣ internally rotate the shoulders, circumduct, extend the shoulders as strongly as possible. Depress ‘em too. ⁣
3️⃣ flex the elbow joint and hold. ⁣
4️⃣ relax, then reverse!⁣
5️⃣ retract, then extend the elbow joint⁣
6️⃣externally rotate the shoulders and circumduct around again—come towards shoulder flexion. ⁣

Relax!⁣

Pro tips: ⁣
✅keep it meditative— watch your breath! ⁣
✅Be alert for compensations— wrists love to do the shoulders job!⁣
✅Don't be surprised if one side is faster/slower/etc!⁣

Give it a try and tell me how it goes!⁣
