Adventures in the Arts with @judydcz -- We saw the American Ballet Company's production of Romeo & Juliet at the Kennedy Center.

Finding the energy to do the things that give us more energy can feel frustrating at times. I've been someone who had to "guard" his down-time, and I get it. But seeing performance art, catching up with friends, and generally being out in the world and in community also has a way of recharging my batteries.

It's a balance... But ultimately, the question becomes whats draining, what's sustaining, and what's nourishing.

Be a fountain, not a drain. Seek fountains.

If your engagements and responsibilities have precluded you from being in community, I want you to know I wish you well.

The pandemic has done a real number on people. Being around people who had to pretend like they were scared of going out so they didn't have to go to their domineering bosses idea of an "office" did a real number on people. Actually being scared did a real number on people. Watching loved ones die while your unemployment ran out and your business owners kept their PPP money and friends got raises and cars and houses... well, that did a real number on people. Being these people did a real number on people.

May we all heal from this collective trauma.

Cause listen... I know this is a hot take...I gotta tell ya... There's nothing quite like seeing art in person with people.
