About

Teacher, writer, studio owner. Twenty years in, still paying attention.

I’m Michael Joel Hall. I teach yoga, meditation, and a handful of other insight practices — the kind of work that trains attention and makes you better at whatever else you’re trying to do.

Most of my students are leaders, builders, and technologists. People solving hard problems who have figured out that the bottleneck isn’t information — it’s the quality of their own attention. I help them fix that.

I run The Yoga Club in Washington, D.C. — a small shala where the practice is taken seriously and nobody takes themselves too seriously. I write a weekly newsletter about consciousness, leadership, technology, and practice. I work with a handful of people one-on-one each year.

“Pay attention, tell the truth, do the work, be kind. Everything else is details.”
