Consider all the tools of yoga to bring about effective and sustained transformation, including asana, pranayama, mantra, meditation, and ritual.
- Teachers may wish to go through a written or mental checklist before class to consider plans for including more tools than asana.
- For instance, plan for places in class to teach at least two specific breath practices. For example, we might simply teach a practice to extend the exhalation during the opening & centering part of class and later in class, teach a two-part breath to extend the inhalation while in an energizing posture.
- Other considerations are a mantra, phrase or object of meditation that can be carried through class and at least one consistent ritual whether chanting OM, lighting & snuffing a candle, playing a singing bowl or other.
