Sequencing: Teach How to Set a Proper Foundation: Beginners: Sequencing

Since building a proper foundation is critical to safety and proper alignment, it’s important to give new students enough instruction and time to find a proper foundation for each pose.
- Beginners will usually need to take a fair amount of time to find the proper foundation for each pose.
- Ease this process by grouping poses based on foundation: from a Seat, Hands & Knees or Knees, from Tadasana (Mountain Pose) legs, Virabhadrasana I (Warrior 1 Pose) foundation, Virabhadrasana II (Warrior 2)foundation, poses from belly, from Setu Bandhasana (Bridge) shape, etc.
- See Asana Categories & Families for more information.
- This is in contrast to moving up and down a lot; to moving quickly such as in one-breath-per-movement vinyasas; from moving directly from Warrior 1 to Warrior 2, etc.
